Terms of Use

Last updated: August 15, 2026

Plain language, and it means what it says. Rote is an iPhone app that loops one affirmation for as long as you set. These terms cover what you get, what a subscription costs, and who handles the money.

Who this is between

Rote is published by ZX Capital LLC. These terms are the agreement between you and ZX Capital LLC. Using the app means you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

What Rote is

Rote plays one recorded affirmation on a loop, for a length you choose, with a pause you choose between repetitions. You can loop tracks from the catalog or record your own voice and loop that.

The catalog is recorded by Zachary Hogan, Certified Hypnotist (American Alliance of Hypnotists) and Certified NLP Master Practitioner (American Union of NLP). Those certificates are issued by private certifying organisations, not by a government licensing board. The exact titles above are the whole claim.

What Rote is not

Rote is not medical advice, not a medical device and not treatment for any condition. It does not diagnose anything, it does not treat anything, and it promises no health outcome.

If something in your life needs professional help, please get it from a qualified professional. An app on a loop is not a substitute for one.

Do not listen to a session while driving or operating machinery. Rote is for sitting still, lying down or falling asleep.

Repetition is a practice, not a guarantee. Nobody can promise you a result, and Rote does not.

What is free, and stays free

Recording your own voice: unlimited, any length, any number of recordings.

Looping: unlimited, every timer, plus the sleep timer, the fade out and background playback.

One full catalog track, permanently, and a 60 second preview of every other track, always.

None of that needs a card and none of it expires.

The subscription

Rote Premium unlocks the rest of the catalog in full, plus every new pack released while your subscription is active.

Rote Premium Annual is $69.99 a year and starts with a 14 day free trial.

Rote Premium Monthly is $12.99 a month and has no trial.

During the launch window there is a Founding Annual at $49.99 a year, with the same 14 day free trial. It stays $49.99 for as long as you keep the subscription. After the window, the annual price is $69.99.

There is no weekly plan and no lifetime plan.

Prices are in US dollars. In other countries Apple sets the local price, so the amount you are shown can differ.

Auto renewal, and how to cancel

Subscriptions renew automatically. Apple charges your Apple Account within 24 hours before the current period ends, at the price of the plan you are on, unless you cancel first.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, or the next period is charged. Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not shorten the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until it runs out.

To cancel: open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, tap Rote, then Cancel Subscription. You can do it at any time and you do not have to ask anyone.

If you are in a free trial and you cancel before it ends, you are not charged. Starting a paid subscription while a trial is running ends the unused part of the trial.

Manage your subscriptions at Apple

Billing and refunds are Apple's

Every purchase inside the app goes through Apple's in-app purchase system. That is the only way to buy a subscription in Rote.

Apple takes the money, issues the receipt and decides refunds. Rote cannot charge you, cannot refund you and cannot see your payment details. Ask Apple for a refund and Apple answers.

New packs

The plan is a new pack every month while you are subscribed. Packs are released through App Review, and App Review's calendar is not ours, so no specific date is promised.

The catalog can change. Tracks may be re-recorded, renamed or retired.

Your recordings are yours

Anything you record in Rote belongs to you. ZX Capital LLC claims no rights over it and has no way to reach it: there is no Rote server and nothing is sent to one.

That cuts both ways. Rote cannot get a recording back for you. Recordings live on your iPhone, and if you delete the app or lose the phone they are gone, unless your own iCloud or computer backup happens to hold a copy. If a recording matters to you, keep your own copy of it.

The catalog is not yours

The catalog tracks, the writing, the artwork and the Rote name remain the property of ZX Capital LLC. A subscription buys you a personal, non transferable licence to listen inside the app for as long as it is active.

Do not extract, copy, re-upload, resell, sample or publish the tracks, and do not include them in anything else. Do not attempt to work around the paywall or take the app apart.

Availability, and the limits

Rote is provided as it is. It is a small app made by one person, it will have bugs, and iOS changes underneath it. There is no promise that it is uninterrupted or error free.

As far as the law allows, ZX Capital LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing here removes rights you have under the consumer law of your own country, which in many places cannot be signed away.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, in the United States, where ZX Capital LLC is registered. Any dispute belongs to the state or federal courts sitting in Texas.

If the consumer law where you live gives you protections that cannot be signed away, this clause does not take them away from you. It decides which law fills the gaps, not which rights you keep.

Changes to these terms

The date at the top of this page is the real one. Material changes are posted here before they take effect, and continuing to use Rote after that means you accept the new version.
